Fellow Report: Rosemarie Keough

        Rosemarie Keough, elected as a WINGS Fellow in 2010, has continued her groundbreaking explorative and artistic endeavors to brilliant results.  Her most recent publication (along with her husband, Pat), Labyrinth Sublime: The Inside Passage, has been roundly hailed a masterpiece.  The 340 photographs contained within document the couple’s adventure through the Inside Passage of Washington, British Columbia and Alaska, a distance equivalent to two trips around the equator.  Stunning images of both lush and stark land and seascapes transport viewers to the Northern wilds that Keoughs holds so dear.               

“Labyrinth” was awarded the gold medal for “Outstanding Book of the Year – Best Book Arts Craftsmanship” in the Independent Publisher Book Awards competition, beating out over 5,000 other titles including entries submitted by the Getty Center and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

  Rosemarie carried WINGS Flag #17 on the expedition during which the book’s images were taken, and proudly reports that she is not slowing down: “We're slowly working toward completing a circum-polar arctic portfolio of photography. It is almost certain that we will have the chance to voyage the Northwest Passage from Alaska, through the Canadian Arctic archipelago across to Greenland later this year.  It's a dynamic time to photograph the arctic which is on the cusp of many changes due to climate.”

  Congratulations to Rosemarie on her continued success and perseverance.  She truly exemplifies everything a WINGS fellow should be, and for that we offer our proud thanks.  We wish her only the best as she continues to break new ground in the quest to document our beautiful world as only she can.
