Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that reveals the power of people and organizations to transform the world. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past 10 years, this idea has grown into a year-round movement that inspires millions of people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity. Every act of generosity counts!

This Giving Tuesday we are asking you to help us continue to fulfill the WINGS WorldQuest mission of lifting up the voices of women in science and exploration.

WINGS’ work is critical: Less than 2 percent* of all U.S. charitable giving goes to organizations that serve women and girls. Your support of WINGS can change that and help us shine a light on the under-recognized discoveries and accomplishments of women explorers, promote women working in the field sciences, and inspire the next generation of problem solvers.

WINGS is unique: We are the only organization that provides unrestricted funding to women field scientists to support their quests to find solutions to global problems through bold research and exploration projects.

The funds raised on Giving Tuesday will support the extraordinary women of WINGS, including the Women of Discovery Fellows program, Flag Carriers program and Emergency Fund for women in the field. WINGS Fellows and Flag Carriers have used these funds to support pioneering discoveries as well as such necessities as lab equipment and plane tickets to conferences to present their work.

So far in 2023, WINGS has supported 15 Flag Carriers so far on expeditions ranging from saving wildlife in the Galapagos Islands to collecting climate change data in Alaska & studying the Omarama Clay Cliffs for bioscience research.

In addition, this year we honored 5 new Fellows at our annual Women of Discovery Awards Gala. It was a reunion of Fellows and Flag Carriers from all over the globe as we celebrated 20 years of WINGS, 100 Fellows, and 100 Flag Carriers!
